Where to go after SAM? Which university am I going? What course am I taking? ..... and finally Where am i decide to go?

MELBOURNE

Why Melbourne? Why not other place? Why not study locally?

Melbourne, a city in Victoria, Australia.Most of the Asians prefer to go there than other places in Australia, which included me. I choose there because most of the famous/prestigious universities located there, the University of Melbourne, Monash University, RMIT... Secondly, my relatives and grandparents had migrated to Australia, and I will be staying with them (well, maybe temporary) as I could save a lot money on accommodation and food. SAM programme was recognised especially in Australia, and as you know the name of the course SAM- South Australian Matriculation. Most of the universities I applied early of the year have met all the requirements. Well, study in Australia would be a good experience for me... Why not do it locally? Hm... in term of the money part, it's cheap study here. However, I only have few choices here, and not all universities are well known, well-equipped, good environment, lecturers.... I'm not to look down or make critics on them, but as most of the people knows the education in Malaysia.. Next thing, I'm interested in science course,especially biotechnology nowadays... but here's a catch... In Malaysia, the 'bio-valley' developed too slow, and the job opportunity would be so low..I can't imagine after studied and comes out jobless...Sorry to be realistic, but WE ARE IN REALISTIC WORLD.

After took my results from Taylor's college, I head straight to IDP to settle my uni stuff. And I have decided to study in the University of Melbourne, taking the Bachelor of Science. That's all, I don't want to think anymore first...

Christmas at home

Easily get tired these days, so this year of Christmas I decided to stay at home. Take some good rest in order to settle my university applications as soon as possible. From tomorrow onwards will spend most of the time thinking, deciding which uni and course to go , and submit my results to them.

Spend whole day at home, have nice dinner with my family...

SAM results officially released

Can't manage to fight the sleepy bug flying around, sleep for 2-3 hours.

'Message received: Hey Charlie, the results released already, go to the ssabsa website and check it out'. I paused awhile, the anxious and worry feelings feel into my heart. Quickly jump off from bed and online to check. However, the SSABSA website was packed with all the SAM students, desperate to check their results, included me. Tick tock.... I can't wait any longer.. then pei san told me to call direct to SSABSA. And of course i called them.

"This is SSABSA .... how can i help u?"
"I would like to know my results now."
"Can i get your personal information? ......."
"Your TER score...aha... 94.85"
"Woohoo....Thanks !!!"

I was overjoyed with the results i obtained. Although i did badly in my ESL, but i still managed to get high score... Depression healed instantly... Happiness and delight mood overwhelmed me !!! Well, my score did reached my expectation, but abit disappointed that i can't get straight A's... Parents were also happy with it, and keep saying: " Well, you did your best, don't blame yourself". But if I could...I would get better results...Sad... Well, I just had to accept it. After all, most of the universities that I had applied have reached the requirement for the TER score. No worries now ^^

SAM results going to release

I can't sleep for the whole night... I'm getting nervous now... What if i did badly? what if my results not qualified for my course.. what if...

Well, I kept remind myself, it's over, i gotta faced the problem now...

Insomnia again... but this time plus worry and uncomfortable in my heart...

Celebrate 'Dong Zhi' with SHE

Supposedly every year of this day i will celebrate 'Dong Zhi' with my family (well, it's seems to be a Chinese custom where every member of the family gather together for reunion dinner). But this year the plan changed, I would be celebrate with SHE !!! For the first time out of this day, i feel abit uncomfortable because I'm always the obedient boy :P

Around 4pm, I listened MYFM 101.80 for the interview between SHE. It was delayed due to dunno wad reasons. wait till 4.30pm finally they came, but the interview last for half an hour. After that I prepared myself and head straight to Penny's house (I dunno the way,so decided to go early). I had dinner with Penny's family before going to the Jusco Cheras Selatan in Sg. Long (that time only knew that Cheras was so big...).

Before I reached Penny's house, I pass by the Jusco and spotted alot 'dummies' already waited in front of the stage. Well, they were the 'loyal' fans of SHE... under the hot sun, squatting and sweating... Me and Penny reached there around 6.30pm, the place already crowded with people, what the most disappointed was they divided 2 zones, i was the green zone, which seems far from the stage. What to do...find a nice spot to stand >.<. Well I guess we gotta buy the DIGI package in order to get into yellow zone..Duh..I'm a MAXIS user, ok?

SHE came to the spot around 7.20pm, which suppose to start at 7pm...Waited so long, my leg kinda cramped. There are a few events which included open ceremony of GREEN BOX ( sub of REDBOX), singing session which only sing 3 songs (触电, 怎么办, 我们怎么了). and followed by autograph session...I didn't go for it because...TOO MANY PEOPLES... Gosh, they lined up approximately 100m away from stage, and consists of 3 lines...

So me and Penny ended up having a tour in Jusco Cheras Selatan. The environment was very clean and nice, some Christmas decoration and mostly were restaurants..fast food,chinese,korean,japanese...drinks...ice-creams...

After touring we went for a drink in 海螺, a relaxing place where some talented singers will have performances. We have drinks and chatting among our life..career...future...

I fetched Penny backed home around 10 something, then i headed back to the highway i supposed to go, but something happened... I was driving into the right lane, but suddenly an unknown Proton block my right path...I tried to speed up so I can cut into the further lane, but that stupid driver seems wanna race car with me.... Eh, i'm driving a Kenari la, how fast could I be... I'm a careful driver de :P... The battle last for a minutes where i meet a junction, too fast... and i ended up in the left lane, which leads me to unknown highway... Started to worry that time, it was dark and less car...I drove about 5Km and I reached a toll, then i ask whether the highway leads to Puchong, she said yes and very short distance. The highway was Kajang Silk Highway. In the end i ended up back to Puchong which pass by 4 tolls, RM4 gone and took me almost 50Km back... There goes my petrol...

I'm so glad that I reached home on time :P

Ex-PBSM gathering

For the long...long...planning...calling...inviting...At last our Ex-PBSM 2005 gathering was held in Mid valley Megamall at 11am sharp. But due to some problem I faced ( painting job at home + traffic jam + festive season ), I reached there around 12pm. ( Don't blame me, somebody were lot later than me..:P).

Aw, I'm hungry..first thing was to fulfil my food desire. We ate in Pizza Hut, chatting about everyone current and future plans...Then we moved our butt in order to burn some calories. The mall was rather packed with tonnes of peoples, squeezing every single each, stepping each others' feet, the air was getting stuffy..I'm gonna faint soon... (what to do, it's almost Christmas, and it's MEGA SALES!!!).

In the centre court, there's dancing and singing performances + (present give away and photo taking session for RM15). We just stood at the stage side because the front stage were so crowded, and we managed to watch the performance plus the performer's butt (sorry,it's not my fault).

I would said that, the winner of the decoration of all the shopping mall goes to... MID VALLEY !!! However I would prefer the last year decoration with the them: white christmas. This year was very colourful... Well, some snapshots from our gang.

Don't misjudge me, I'm not goldfish kor kor... Try to act cute with my 'daughter', but turns out...

Around 4 something, me and Penny went to watch 'Colic'

Colic is a syndrome found in infants, which causes infants to cry

Several months later, the baby still hasn't stopped crying...while the family's members encounter to mysterious and unexplained experiences.

The movie was rather disappointed, not much horror substances, but i can said only 3-4 parts that last for 2-3 mins for the scary part. My rate of terrified reaction was so low, but it's enough to show Penny that she promised herself not to watch horror movie with me =.=" (because whenever any scary part i will tends to scream and shake the chair :p), that's her reason...

Love and marriage

Love or relationship?
A once student asked a teacher, "What is love?"

The teacher said, "In order to answer your question, go to the paddy field and choose the biggest paddy and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick again."

With an exciting heart, the student went to the field, and go through the first row, he saw a big paddy, just to pick but then he hesitate and ponder…..
“Maybe there is a bigger one later.”

He didn’t pick that paddy and continue to walk through, this time, he saw another bigger paddy... but he still think
“Maybe there is another even bigger paddy waiting for him?”

After that, when he finished more than half of the paddy field, he start to realize that the paddy is not as big as the previous one he saw, he know he had missed the biggest, and he regretted.

So, he ended up went back to the teacher empty-handed.

The teacher told him, "That is Love, you keep looking for a better person, but when later you realized, you have already missed the best person...."

Feeling disappointed, the student asked his teacher again.
"What is marriage then?"

The teacher said, "In order to answer your question, go to the corn field again and choose the biggest corn and come back. But the rule is: You can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

Then, the student went to the corn field.

This time, he was very careful not to repeat the previous mistake, when he reached the middle of the field, he picked on a medium corn that he was satisfied with, and came back to the teacher.

The teacher told him, "This time, you bring back a corn.... you looked for one which is just nice, and you have faith and believe this is the best one you get because you had being regretted once and…….....this is Marriage.

Friends Forever

Woohooo...Long time didn't sing K liao...Today seems to be a gathering, with some old friends of 10 years friendship between each other. This could be a memorable day for us since the last time we got met together for almost more than half a year ago. I miss them so much !!

Once I reach at the LRT station, i thought i will be late ... well somebody arrive later than me (Eric and Carina). We took LRT to Bandar Tun Razak cause Penny will be fetching us to Neway in Leisure Mall Cheras. The driving skill of Penny.. NO comment... but her front mirror took my attention, indeed a huge front mirror which allows people to view better and no need to observe the side mirror.

When we reach there, only 4 of us arrived. So...we started to sing first lo, no need waste time ma...Later on, Grace (our former primary school computer teacher, who already resigned and work in other company) with her friends arrived. She took her wedding photos for us...Time passed so fast, she going to get married... (Big girl liao lo, at last can get married, must 'sang sang seng seng' o.hahaha..). She even gave us some photos as souvenirs for us, and also the map to her new house so we can visit (well, the truth is so we can kacau them).

Grace Au

Grace Au, our 'big sister' in our clan. We met her during Standard 6 (2000) in SRJK (C) Choong Wen. She's the person in charge in the 'Frontpage project contest'. Although she's our teacher and older than us, but we seems to be very very close together especially in the project process. Sometimes we even hang out together. She's seems to be a very serious girl during teaching, but in the free time, she could be play as crazy as us. This seems to be unique for us especially the age gap that didn't separate us for these 10 years till now.

Later on, Elaine (a friend of Grace, who we met before during a trip to Pulau Pangkor in 2003) and her bf came for the gathering. For the two hours we chat,sing and eat. And of course we took some photos before we left.

Redbox

This noon went to that immigration centre again to pickup our passport... Guess wad, took me one and half hour just to finish everything...Duh >.<

About 3.30 i went to Sunway Pyramid as i promised someone go there watched movie, but due to time restriction, i couldn't manage to get there at 1.00pm. They watched Happy Feet at 2.00pm. As I reached there, of course kena marah abit lo... Everyone show the LOOK already.... So i suggested to go sing K in Redbox lo... (at first some disagree...then went through some arguments and consideration...) We go Redbox at 4.45pm. Due to the overjoy after exam syndrome, everyone forgot to bring student card... Student price was RM7++ while normal charge was RM14++ (What a big difference, some more is weekdays =.=" ) Everyone (Me, Elaine, Yi Lin, Esther and Pei San) went in and sing...Sing...SIng..SINg...SING !!!

Passport

My whole family went to Pusat Imigresen Negara which located in Damansara (near HELP college) to renew our passport... My dad said go there late also never mind cause they got e-passport which renew passport using technology. Just need to bring 2 passport size photos, IC and the old passport.

We went there around 10 something, the e-passport section was only 2-3 peoples (Well, i think most of the people still doubt about the system, especially when it comes to government department). We had to give our IC to the officer to certify, then they will assist you to the machine..follow the instruction on screen and you will found it easy to complete the whole procedure. Me and my father finish out renewing passport, but unfortunately...
Officer: U dan adik ni punya IC tak boleh scan, ada masalah sikit. (told my mom)
Dad: Tapi IC ini tak ada rosak, IC department yang buat punya...
The officer seems abit 'zha dao'... silent a moment...
Then they said: U all kena pergi kat atas, isi borang untuk buat passport...

I really feel dissapointed not because of the attitude of the officers, but the efficiency of the government servant... How can u said the IC got problem? It's made from 'Malaysia'....

So we went up stairs and filled in the form, cost RM1 per form. Then gotta wait for the number to call... 130+ peoples till us... We sat there patiently...hoping the number to call ... IT WAS SO BORING FOR ME TO WAIT !!! We wait for 2 hours then only my sis and mom's number were call up...DAMN...Another waiting session to PAY... this took about 1 hour cause some officers went for lunch...Only 1 counter for paying the passport... Duh... >.<

One whole day wasted to renew passport....

Chemistry

Well, this is the day... LAST DAY OF EXAM !!! I'm so excited raising my mood to the peak...I can't wait for the last hour any longer !!

Chemistry exam, well i already put a lot effort on it...Just stupid careless mistakes will instant kill >.<... What to do? Just go into C21 at 11.30am and head straight for my CHEMISTRY !!! 3 hours paper, every second my brain was trying to squeeze all the info for the paper, while the other part of brain was having countdown...

2.40pm !!! IT'S OVER !!!

Biology

Getting exhausted...I mean really tired... Insomnia getting worst day by day, sleep at 3am and wake up at 5am...

Biology, used to be my favorite subject, but today seems to be worry about it. Maybe not well prepared yet? I'm not sure, but for now, just gotta face it.

Maths

Insomnia again >.< ~ This is getting me crazy liao...Not enough sleep la... Stress? I need medication immediately ( sleeping pills !!!)

Stomachache this morning and I feel so tired and fatigue... Mom called me to eat 'Poh Chai Yun' just in case worst thing happens during exam... Exam starts at 7am in class 2.4. Everything well prepared and I managed to calm down. Once i started my paper, my pen keep on writing and brain 'sqeezing' whenever I come across/stuck in difficult question... Think...think...think... Cannot tahan liao...Gotta go toilet >.<

Once finish the exam, straight went to C27 to pick up the 'Winanga-Li' SAM magazine. Everyone were discussing about the math, how tough and how bad was math...Then Ms Yeap stepped in and ask us "how's maths?" "VERY HARD LA !!!"

Headache again...Went back home and take a long sleep... Goodbye maths !

Physics

1am...2am...3am...Insomnia again >.< I gotta wake up at 5am ... Drive to college today since dad lazy to fetch me. I feel dizzy, tired plus abit unconscious while driving. But safely reach there la...

Exam starts at 7am in classroom 2.8 (it's really a small classroom which fits 24 students). Once i went into 2.8, i unpacked everything on my desk, it down and trying to calm myself. Blue pen..eraser...ruler...Eh? Where's my student id card? Panic started to rush all our my mind,the adrenaline hormone started to pump inside my body. I tried to search inside my bag, wallet, but ... I FORGOT TO BRING MY STUDENT ID CARD !!! So i quickly rush to the SAM office and get an admission slip. I'm panic until i even forgot my student id..gosh...That it's so embarassing =.=" Mr. Yong was also in the SAM office, he saw me rushing and sweating.

Mr. Yong: Charlie, no need to so rush, calm down..
Me: I'm trying to calm...
Mr. Yong: Chill la, still got time... (all staff there started to laugh, even I also).

As soon i got the slip, once again i rushed back to class 2.8, ran in and sat down. My heart beats so hard and i'm sweating. I tried to calm down as fast as possible in order not to interupt my attention. 1..2...3.....Opps, time started for the exam... Start off straight away and write...write...write... Some question stuck there for so long...blank...move on...I managed to finish on time, however no time to check...Screwed again >.< This was tougher than the trials...

What's now? went home and SLEEP !!! zzz...ZZZ.... Physics? I don't want to see u anymore...

ESL

Insomnia has started it's job...On bed at 12am, roll here and there till 3am only manage to sleep...Is it stress?

Exam starts at 11.30pm, dad fetched me to college coz lazy to drive + no parking space at that time. Exam venue in D26-28. I went in and sat there, trying to calm myself down, as i keep on thinking and pressurize myself to archive B16 above...

As the exam starts, first part is listening comprehension. I tried so hard to listen to the speaker while writting down almost every single word that would be the point. Seems to me that i can't concentrate fully on the speaker coz maybe ate too full until not sufficient of blood circulation to my brain. Next moves to extended response. I started it early but end up finish it quite late. I kept jumble up all the supporting details for each topic. Duh...I'm really frustrated already...Keep on erase, cancel the sentence and rewrite again and again...Finally once I finished my extended response, another disaster strikes on me... OMG!!! I only left 10 minutes to write a 200 words letter !!! Panic and blank of my brain... I gotta crap and write something on the letter, whatever came across my mind, just dump it into the letter...End up might getting 'poor synthesize of ideas'... Sad...Screwed my letter...

Why spend so much time in extended response? Why you do things so slow? Why you panic then everything will blank in your mind?

Before the Final...

Last day of the term, and tommorrow will be final exam...
Time passes so fast, my pre-u course has come to the end, unofficially graduate :P
What can I do now is,
rest more, don't think so much...
just cross my fingers and hope for the BEST !!!

Comments:

This movie creates a lot of suspense, amazing and twisted ending. You really gotta put all your concentration while watching it. I would suggest watch in a group of friends which could discuss about he movie.

According to stage magic engineer Harry Cutter, (Michael Caine), great magic tricks are composed of three acts: The Pledge, where the magician shows the audience something that appears ordinary, but is probably not; The Turn, where the magician makes the ordinary act extraordinary; and The Prestige, where there are "twists and turns, where lives hang in the balance, and you see something shocking you've never seen before."

The last step of magic trick, The Prestige is the main component for the audience to start amused and wondering about the trick. Every trick is a secret, if you reveal your trick, the trick will be not valuable at all ! I was wondering, why the Thomas Edison gang suddenly popped up, and tried to destroy the invention of Tesla. Tesla's invention not only can transport people, but also can clone human (feeling a bit weird). So everytime Angier finish he's trick, he gotta killed he's clone. Every effort gotta sacrifice something. As Borden, he's got twins. That's why we can conduct 'The Transported Man' so successful. But there's a price of sacrifice, they always switched character, one of them love he's wife, the other love Oliver. He's wife, noticed the difference of love and become confused, stress, stuggling until the end she commited suicide. As Angier found a way to punish Borden for killing he's wife, he create a crime scence to put Burden to sentence of death. But because Burden had twins, one of the gotta sacrifice. As revenge continued Burden killed Angier in the end (a lot of advice, flashback happened here).

Brain bursting

Wake up quite late today at 10am, sleep not well last night. My head feel so dizzy and headache...I ate my roti canai brought from my mom + panadol,then continue my study... Piles of papers...books...stationaries... on my study table...

Brain currently not functioning well, the intensity of headache is like the distribution of diffraction grating, up and down...Cannot tahan liao, went to sleep...till lunch,my head feel like atomic bomb,will burst any minute...panadol again and sleep..zzzz...

Stress..can't you leave me alone?

Study leave week

Early in the morning, brushing my teeth while still thinking whether wanna go to college for the math mock exam...then i remember i gotta pass something to Joanna. So just gotta go >.<

When i reach there, as usual Esther will reach there same time as me, and park side by side with me (almost everytime). So i walked with her discussing about consulting lecturer stuffs. She wanna ask Mrs. Kalpana, so we went to staffroom to search for her (as u all know she won;t come so early ... esther also said she got once saw her come to college at 7.50am =.="). what to do? we juz went to C21 for our mock exam, approximately 20 homosapiens came for the test. Duh,it was so boring....

A lecturer came in and pass us the maths paper. She looks so fierce, some also noticed that. Then I said : "Maybe she dunno how to makeup ler... Or maybe her eyebrows should trim abit..." Esther look at me, =.="" sweat~

Christine pop up and told us the lecturer name's might be Christine also. So Esther suggest when she come in again, she will ask "Christine (loud voice), why you come so late?". Esther really do the same thing as the lecturer walk in. Guess what, we didn't see her reaction at all, cause we all dipped out head on the maths paper ~sweat again~

After 2 1/2 hours, we finish our paper and start to discuss...Me and Esther go search for lecturers from staffroom to the classroom, then end up in Asia Cafe...and we found Ms. yeap, then we walked back to college again (I was so hot and hungry...). As we consult her, her attitude started showing off when we really don't know that question is about. " Don't stare at the question." "I don't understand your question", "wrong! wrong! "... In the end, my mood already bad+frustrated+hungry...while esther worrying about her carpark ticket...In the end, we didn't ask much and just went home.

Class Party

Previous day, Mrs Kalpana was so excited to throw us a class party(sort of like farewell party) for G8. Well, Christine will be the one who organize it (Thanks Christine ^^). So Christine along with other peoples (Sam, Han Wei and Karmen) go Carrefour to buy stuffs. Some funny incident happen during their shopping...
Sam was the one who driving...U all can guess her driving skills la, even Christine they all also 'admire' her :P So, when they're on the way come out from the carpark, they came across a 'NO ENTRY' sign, but this Sam just ignore it and drive into that path. But in the end they manage to come out, thank God , LOL !!! (Thank god for the passenger of Sam also)

During the last period in Bio class, we went to watch a movie called 'Super-sized Me'.Basically, it was talking about fastfood that leads to many diseases. This guy risks he's life and try to prove the effect of having fastfood everyday, 24 hours for a month !! It was so gross, imagine everyday, every meal gotta eat the same type of food in McDonald's. Somemore every portion is SUPER-SIZED...Our large meal is US's regular portion, u can imagine their SUPER-SIZED portion, eat until vomit...eww...In conclusion, don't eat so much fastfood, it really proven to leads many negative side effects- obesity, diabetes, heart attack, infertile, cancer....until u MCCRAZY !!!

Around 3pm, we went down to the staff lounge to have our class party. Every lecturer was invited, all come up accept Ms. Yeap (don't know what happen to her, someone saw her rushing to the carpark). Mrs Kalpana drive back home and prepared mutton curry for us, it was delicious ^^, other dishes included fruit cake, roti canai, crackers, biscuits...The theme today also mix up with Deepvali, so all the dishes also related to it, even the music too =.=" It was really fun today, pictures below can tell you everything.
